On what date is this event and at what time do we depart ?

This year Ladies Day is Thursday, June 19, 2008. We depart from Victoria Station, The Holiday Inn Hotel. We have negotiated discounted teas and coffees and also complimentary biscuits. Treat it as your airport lounge, arrive early, relax, register and study the form. The coach will depart at 9.20am. We ask you to allow plenty of travelling time and suggest that you aim to be there for 8.45am.

What happens if we miss the coach ?

Not much, you do not get to go on the coach!.

There will be NO REFUNDS for those who turn up late and miss the coach, the departure time is 9.20 AM BMT (BRITISH MEAN TIME) and not BMT! We are all grown ups and getting to the agreed meeting point is YOUR responsibility!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. There is an excellent British Rail Service from Waterloo to Ascot, see www.trainline.com for times.

How do we get there ? and how long does it take ?

We travel by top of the range Mercedes Luxury Executive coach to Ascot, with the following features: a toilet, reclining seats, foot rests, personal settings for music console, air conditioning and a video on board. The racecourse is situated in the heart of Berkshire. Normally it would take about 90 minutes from central London, however on race day, allow for 2 to 2 and half hours travel. Last year we did it in an hour and 15 minutes.

What should I wear ?

Grandstand Tickets:
For those Gentlemen with Grandstand Tickets, we suggest Top Hat and Tails, if you are unable to obtain this then a suit and tie. Ladies, dresses and fine hats!

Silver Ring Enclosure
Although there are no dress requirements for the Silver Ring Enclosure, Ladies Day is a great excuse to dress up and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Royal Ascot. Hats and fine dresses are definitely in for the Ladies. Guys, designer suit and matching tie and shirt combo's are the order of the day. Top hat and tails maybe for the more daring?

General Information
Remember to check the forecast and perhaps to allow for poor weather. Although we pray for some summer sunshine, British weather is renowned for being wet at any time and it certainly can be miserable if you are not prepared or dressed for it.
We also recommend that you bring a fold up chair, umbrella, blanket and binoculars, all may be of use at different times during the day.
